19October2017 And then she was 6!

Today we partied because it's L's birthday.  Back-to-back birthdays.  Can we get a "Shew!" from parents out there?
Thankfully L didnt want a big affair, just pancakes for breakfast, a couple buddies to the playground and McDonalds, cupcakes and presents...of course, presents.
We praise our Father for L and pray she we walk hand-in-hand with Him every day of her life.  Ephesians 6:10-11ff seems fitting for a sixth birthday. "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes..."

18October2017 Tween

Today we celebrate M's 11th birthday.  She likes to remind us that she is not a kid but a tween
(beween a child and a teenager).  Her father says she is a tween, between crazy and sassy!
The party was filled with eight giggling, wiggly, dancing and sometimes screaming girls, from across the globe.  Cool crafts, fun games and funky foods ruled the day.  It was a celebration fitting a tween.
We are so grateful for the gift of M.  May she walk with our Father all the days of her life.  Psalm 11:7 is a fitting verse for our compassionate, justice fighter.  "For the Lord is righteous, He loves justice;the upright will see His face."  Happy Birthday M!

13October2017 Stayin' Alive

You have to read these words, even better sing them, before viewing the photos below:
Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk
I'm a woman's man, no time to talk
Music loud and women warm
I've been kicked around since I was born

And now it's all right, it's okay
And you may look the other way
We can try to understand
The New York Times' effect on man

Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother
You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Feel the city breaking and everybody shaking
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive

Ah, ah, ah, ah, stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ah, ah, ah, stayin' alive...
J and Z went to the school dance last night.  We have no videos or pics to prove it (we were forbidden from chaperoning this one for fear of spontaneous parental boogieing) but apparently they cut quite the rug.  True or not, they looked pretty dapper if we do say so ourselves.

01October2017 Field Trippin' 3

Final day! It's been a great week for J and the team.  So grateful to experience places and things like this with our children. Thanks for praying for us!  God is good!
