We spent Thanksgiving in one of our favorite places on the planet. In the middle of such unabated beauty, two Scriptures came to mind:
"Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!" 1 Chronicles 16:34 We have our health, we have these children, He has called us to this place and sustained us all the while. His love is not only steadfast but it is certainly unending. Should we not give thanks?
"...if they remain silent, the very stones will cry out.” Luke 19:40 When He entered Jerusalem, aka the Triumphal Entry, the people fulfilled prophecy by both recognizing and proclaiming the deity of Christ. It sent the religious leaders of the day over the top and they demanded He shush the crowd. I sortof wish He had done it because if He had, the rocks underfoot and certainly surrounding them would have broke out into praise. Imagine if that happened in a place like this. One chord, echoing down the valley, reverberating across these ancient rocks. Glorious!
We pray you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

16November2018 Twofold Blessing
This right here is a twofold blessing:
1. We found this frozen turkey.
2. We could actually afford it (It wasnt $200!!!)
William Bradford would be proud and we cant wait to see what kind of culinary artistry #D comes up with.
**Yes that head of cabbage is actually that large. We bought the smallest one in the store, that would fit into our non-American sized refrigerator but still. Thankfully cabbage is cheap, it costs about a dollar.

8November2018 Away
It took us took us too long to discover that we HAVE to schedule time away (outside of this culture) for our family to feel coolness and humidity, to see green trees and grass, to eat the other white meat, to speak English and to simply hangout. The same thing goes for our marriage! So when the opportunity came for us to go to a retreat we jumped at the chance. We're grateful for the folks that sponsored our stay, for airline miles that paid for flights and for wonderful #H that stayed with the Little Feet. Below are a few pictures of our time but we also have a question. Are you getting away, taking down time, enjoying your Sabbath's rest? For us it's not a question of if we can afford it (Go to a library or a coffee shop or spend the afternoon watching Netflix) but a matter of if we afford not to?
