18September2018 Remembered

"We are praying for you."  It was as simple message but wow! so encouraging.  Honestly, there are days when we feel forgotten.  Yes, thanks to technology we're tethered to the rest of the world, however 6000 miles has an affect on your psyche.  Simply put, We miss our loved ones!  So, when we get a message that reminds us we are loved, remembered, prayed for, it just feels nice.  Thank you for loving us!

7September2018 Futbol

"If God had wanted man to play soccer, he wouldnt have given us arms."  Mike Ditka

I wonder what Mr. Ditka thinks God gave him feet for.  :)  We're excited for the beginning of the youth futbol (that's "soccer" for our friends in Kentucky) season.  This is #L's first organized league.  #A is, of course, an old pro.  The world is mad about this game and it's a staple of cultural life here.  It's a great opportunity for the kids to meet new buddies and for us to meet families.  

1September2018 Quickshot: Nutty

We were eating at a restaurant in our neighborhood (#datenight Woot!) and they served these before the meal.  Freshly roasted almonds, that had been soaked in water.  They tasted good, like soft almonds (imagine that!) but look how pretty they are.  I was struck by the fact that there is beauty, even in the smallest detail, all around us.  The One who created these things, place intrinsic loveliness in throughout creation, including places where human eyes may never see, like the inside of an almond seed. This speaks to not only how creative our God is how aesthetic excellence simply exudes from Him.  He is beautiful....and I'm not a nut!
