What a great reminder! It is SO easy to get wrapped up in the evil of this crisis but God has not relinquished control! He is working in the midst of the tragedy!
"He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us" Acts 17:26-2
A few days ago I found myself on a beach in Lesvos, Greece, helping sopping-wet children, hysterical women and shell shocked men off a rubber dinghy that had just rolled and bobbed across the Aegean Sea for five long, cold, miserable, scary hours. I'm not sure how you respond when confronted face-to-face to the suffering of others, particularly kids, but after the heartbrokeness subsided, I was angry. All that anger was directed at the people who had caused this mass movement of people. In the heat of the moment, I forgot a very important principal. God is sovereign. He is in control and as David Platt reminded me today, "God oversees the movement of all peoples."
