13February2017 Quickthought: Father

A month ago, on Saturday, January 14, at the police station in Walterboro, South Carolina, Craig Aiken laid eyes on his daughter, Kamiyah, for the first time. Eighteen years earlier, in Jacksonville, FL, just hours after birth, a lady dressed in nurses’ scrubs, walked out of the doors of the hospital carrying Kamiyah, never to be seen by her parents again…until that meeting at the police station. After spending nearly an hour with his daughter, Aiken, 41, said of seeing her for the very first time: 'It was the best day of my life. It was a beautiful, beautiful day. We are so happy. I hope the world is rejoicing with us.' link

This is exactly like the people we work with every day.  They have lived their whole lives not knowing who their real father is.  They have been lied to.  Abducted.  We have the privilege of introducing our neighbors to their compassionate, merciful, loving Father, for the first time.  And when they understand and come to Him, it’s beautiful.  Words truly can’t explain it.

We are adopted orphans telling fatherless friends about their loving Father.
