21March2017 Quickthought: Goodbyes & Calling

We're saying goodbye a lot lately.  Too much!  One of the kids remarked yesterday that it would be easier to just leave without telling everyone.  Maybe they're right.  It probably would be easier.  On the other hand, maybe the tears and heartaches are worth it.  You know why?  Because it proves we love and are loved by others.
You know what else is worth it?  Our calling.  It would be easy to just say, "No thanks!' and ignore what we are called to do.  Unfortunately I can tell you that by experience, its too easy.  But to miss out of the blessing of obedience, to feel His pleasure in doing what He has gifted, enabled and led us to do....that's hard to beat.  D.
says that our relationship with the Father suffers when we are comfortable but when we lean on Him, when we follow through with His calling, even when it's hard, even when it says saying, "Goodbye!"  "Bye!"  "See you later!" (Ugh!) that's when we experience the most growth, are most in touch with our Father, and truly live the abundant life He promised. I believe she's onto something.
