17June2018 Good Tears

Oh how we miss this place.  Wait!  Not the place necessarily but this!  Gathering together, worshiping our Father, praying in unison, breaking opening the Word to mold and shape, exhort and equip.  Such a blessing.
A couple takeaways being back at GS today:
1. Remember those lyrics from the Cheers intro song? (Cheers was an 80's sitcom for all our millennial friends.) Anyway part of the chorus went like this, "Sometimes you want to go...where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came."  After being gone for a while, it's so nice when folks remember your name and love on you when they see you again.  You know what else is cool?  When you walk into a worship service and there are a lot of people there you DON'T know and who dont look like you or sound like you.  How cool that our home Body is reaching out into the community, regardless of things like race, ethnicity or culture, and people are coming.
2. Speaking of reaching out.  At the end of this particular service, a group of people, like the whole front of the stage was covered, to be prayed for.  This was a commissioning of sorts for three or four teams that were headed out to engage in ministry in various places from nearby to across the globe. in the coming week.  Lots of faces, expectant, nervous, excited, obedient faces that were preparing to Go therefore...  It was a personal WOW! moment.  Like tears falling down cheeks moment.  We are extremely grateful for a home Body that's going and glad to be part of that movement.  May He bless and multiply these efforts!
