1December2019 Quickshot: Hills

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
Psalm 121

29June2019 Quickshot: Bringing in the Sheaves

With enough sunny, hot weather, the hay fields are dry enough for harvesting.  It's amazing to witness the labor that goes into agricultural life surrounding our city.  Although this field was cut by hand, the wheat is being bundled by a baler probably older than the men using it.

31October2018 Quickshot: Hallelujah-ween

On this day, dedicated to fear, or maybe to lots and lots of Halloween candy, we rest in the assurance that the One who created this sunset holds us in the firm, grip of His all-powerful hands.  Hallelujah-ween!

21August2018 Quickshot from Insta: Picking Sheep

The closest thing we can liken it to is when western families go to the Christmas tree lot to pick our a Frazier fir.  With the beginning of Eid al Adha (Good it or DM us for more info), many of our neighbors are picking out that perfect sheep to sacrifice.  That whole "sacrifice" thing sortof kills the whole Christmas tree analogy...

4September2017 Quickshot(s): Sand & Smiles

Spend a couple days in the desert this weekend.  Lots of sand and lots of smiles. Our creative Father, painted this place with splendor.  He created each of us likewise but even better. We were made in His image.  Imagine that!

13March2017 Quickshot: Little gifts

How about this little gift?  We were hoping for one more snow before boarding a plane and look what God did yesterday.  It wasnt a huge snow but it was such a huge blessing.  We are so grateful for the little gifts.

1February2016 Quickshot: Shiver

I was embarrassed.  Regardless of how hard I tried, I couldn’t make myself stop shivering.  Even with a base layer shirt, a shirt, a sweater, and a polar tech jacket, I was shaking.  Yes, the air was cold and damp and was getting colder and damper by the second with the setting of the sun.  But, how dare I be cold?!
As the sun set on Moria, scores and scores of refugee families scurried around the camp, looking for blankets, asking about food, preparing for another cold night in Lesvos.  How dare I be cold!  These people had nothing!

Imagine the desperation she must feel to embark on a dangerous journey to freedom while eight-months pregnant.  Pray for refugees!

28November2015 Quickshot: Tree Trimming

A little touch of the holidays was added to our apartment today as we spent the morning erecting and decorating our humble, little Christmas tree.  How fun!
This tradition has gained some traction among our neighbors as we see many more decorations in homes and businesses, even among our Mslm neighbors, in the last five years.  I've been brushing up on its history in hopes of being ready to use this lovely, evergreen bridge to sharing the True meaning of Christmas.

9November2015 Quickshot: Snokelfest

There are worse places to go on a field trip.  While the rest of the family was shivering in the rain, Z and his lovely chaperoning mama, got to enjoy some sun, sand and snorkeling at the Red Sea.

4November2015 Quickshot: Fav Place

If you walk into our home you're likely to see the scene above.  Each of the Little Feet have developed a love for reading and can usually be found immersed in a book.  M. is no exception and having a purple bean bag to crawl into is an added bonus.

10October2014 Quickshot: Planes, Trains and Automobiles....and Buses

Periodically we have to travel out of the country to maintain our temporary residency.  This weekend is one of those times. We'd appreciate your prayers for travel mercies.  Be sure to check Instagram for photo updates.

7October2015 Quickshot: Glory!

GLORY! There is some declaring going on over here! #CreativeCreator

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is deprived of its warmth.
Psalm 19:1-6
