16December2020 L's Christmas Program

Last night we were blessed to attend L's school Christmas program.  Masks and social distancing made it a bit different this year but what a blessing to attend something we thought Corona was going to rob from us. These kids sang their hearts out and worshiped God with every bit of their beings.  They certain set the bar and set a wonderful example for the rest of us.  Merry Christmas everyone.

7August2019 Quickshots: $50 Used GoPro

Dont suspect the underwater housing will get used very much in the desert but it's hard to turn down a $50 GoPro.  Hope to post more pics and maybe some videos as we learn to use it.

26October2018 Take Your Daughter to Work Day

Dread can be a good thing, at least in this case.  I dread travel when it means separation from my family. Maybe I've watched too many flight safety videos, or used too many mini bottles of shampoo but even if it's just an overnight, there's a certain level of anxiety.  Of course there are many that do it all the time, we have several friends to whom this applies, but I'm just not that guy.  So, if we can make it happen, I like to have a travel buddy.  Thankfully when I had a meeting this week, #L was able to join me and it turned into great memories for the both of us.

19October2018 Back-to-Back Bdays Part 2

Today it was #L's turn.  She wanted baked oatmeal with blueberries (not sure where in the world her mama found blueberries around here), Legos and her own pair headphones. Mission accomplished.  Then it was off to soccer where she scored a birthday goal, how cool is that!?  And no birthday is complete without 700 of your closest second grade friends invading your family's apartment.  Add sugar, games, music, gifts and more sugar and now understand why our neighbors hung a "For Rent" sign on our door.  :)
G-mama sent L this verse from 1 Peter and it couldn't be more appropriate for our newest 7 year-old.
"As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen."

8July2015 Quickshot: Squatty

The Squatty Potty: There's an 'art' to using these facilities. One, you have to make sure your clothes are adjusted properly. Two, you have maintain the proper pose. Three, you have to hit the 3"-4" hole. Four, you have to "clean up" (let's leave it at that). Now, EVERY TIME we go ANYWHERE #L has the insatiable desire to visit the restroom. Today it was at the park and she HAD TO GO and was adamant that she could DO IT ALL BY MYSELF! #P forgot to remind her about rules 1 and 2, above, resulting in her wearing her father's sweat jacket as pictured for the rest of the morning.

13December2014 Quickshot: Stocking Stuffer

Looking for a stocking stuffer for your 3 year-old?  May we recommend some swimming goggles?  D found these in the checkout at the grocery store a couple days ago and L has worn there every day, and everywhere since then.  Definitely worth $2!

20October2013 Back-to-Back Birthdays

Our girls celebrated their birthdays this week.  M turned 7 and L turned 2.  Very grateful for these two precious young ladies!  We pray they walk with the Father all the days of their lives, impacting the world for His kingdom and boldly proclaiming the Truth in both word and deed.  And we pray they always keep these smiles!

23June2013 She really said a mouthful!

Not sure if it was medication (she's been running a low grade fever for the last five days) or the fact that her mom and big sister left her home with the boys while they went to a birthday party, but L. had quite a bit to say last night!
