8November2014 Quickshot: Doing Laundry

This is what doing laundry looks like here. We shoot for "water day", the day(s) when the city opens up the pipes in our neighborhood in order for our tanks to be filled, and try to get as many dirty clothes cleaned as possible.  We cram that little high-efficiency washer full and an hour and a half or two later we put them on a drying rack and stick it outside in the sun to dry.  Sheets and blankets are taken up to the roof, where we cross our fingers that the whipping wind doesn't send them flying down into the street below.
